There are a lot of folks who are upset that anyone is going after Michael Jackson's personal physician. The most common thing I'm hearing is that "Michael chose to do drugs, so why is everyone so concerned about getting the doctor?"
Yes, Michael chose to do drugs, but this particular drug was one that Michael couldn't easily get, shouldn't have ever been made to anyone outside a hospital operating room, and couldn't administer himself. This doctor, and any others who may have also given him this, needs to lose their medical license and never be able to treat patients again. It's irresponsible. Why did they do it? Surely not because they thought it was in the best interest of the patient... No, they did it because of money!
If it is proven that this medicine was what killed Jackson, then it is manslaughter - involuntarily killing someone as a result of his own actions (administering the medication). You can't let someone off the hook for doing something so wrong just because he was doing it to a drug addict.
Also, the investigation needs to find those responsible for ever letting it get to Jackson or his physician in the first place. I read where one doctor said that you can't just order this as a physician. He (the one I'm quasi-quoting) said that he couldn't get it, so how in the world did Jackson's doctor get it? Again... someone broke the law for money.
I hope that money does them some good while they're sitting in prison.... That is until the Jackson family, if they have an ounce of common sense, takes it all back, and much more, in a civil suit.
The lesson that needs to be learned here is to stop catering to celebrities or the rich and powerful by doing something illegal and wrong just because they're giving you money. It's not worth it in the end!
